Barack Obama is fixated on Czars. As a command and control President, he has appointed numerous Czars as the administrtation is fond of referring to them, to oversee a variety of agencies that already exist within the Federal infrastructure. Previous administrations have had a drug Czar for example but none have ever embarked along the path that Barack Obama is creating by having appointed fourteen Czars to date.

These “Czars” of which the most recent announced is the cyber space Czar, are a policy creating layer of hyper executive administration within the White House that operates outside the parameters of traditional Federal agencies and for all intent and purpose yield absolute power with respect to policy and direction over a host of issues affecting Americans.

We have the Drug Czar, the Car Czar, the Environment Czar, the Intelligence Czar and on and on and on goes the list. Obama has created an infrastructure within the Federal government that owes their allegiance solely to the President as oposed to the American people. I am fascinated by the fact that the creationof all these positions has failed to cause even a ripple in the mainstream media or more than a muted response from the American electorate.

The term Czar is an interesting choice for the administration to choose since it connotes the notion of absolute rule once exhibited by Russia’s former leaders. Obama’s Czar’s are introduced with the tradional Obama speak that we have become so familiar with. In fact one would expect that even Barack obama would be able to deliver his canned and practiced presentation without a teleprompter at this stage of his Presidency since the only change is the name and title of his Czar’s.

Obama, reminds us with each presentation that this is a transformational time for our nation and that in order to facilitate the transformation that America must endure, we must embrace the new Czar that Obama through his experience and foresight determined is an absolute need for the American public, so that we may sustain and evolve at this difficult time in our great national experience.

We can only trust, that as Obama leads us further along the progressive fascist path that he has embraced, that a freedom Czar is eventually appointed to assist us in gaining the liberties and traditional values that are so quicklydevolving from the American experience by the Obama apparatchik.

Senator Harry Reid of  Nevada has altered his opinion regarding the transfer of detainees currently housed at the Guantanamo Bay prison facility built by the Bush administration following the 9/11 attacks. A week ago the Senate Majority Leader agreed with his Senate cohorts that the detainees should not be brought to and detained on American soil.

Reid’s apparent flip flop on the subject of Gitmo detainees came coincidentally as  President Barack Obama was attending a fund raiser extravaganza for the unpopular Reid at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. The event featured entertainment by Bette Midler and Sheryl Crow and for a mere $29,500. guests were provide the opportunity to shake the hand of the celebrity President.

In a speech filled with praise for his “good friend” Reid,  the President stated his case for keeping the Majority Leader in the Senate.  Reid will face a tough election in2010 in a state where he is increasingly unpopular and is viewed as being out of touch with the concerns of many of his constituents.

Nevada has suffered a significant economic downturn as both the housing crisis and global recession have wreaked havoc on Las Vegas and the surrounding communities. Senator Reid has rubber stamped the Obama agenda in his role as Majority Leader and failed to promote the benefits of Las Vegas as a business conference and convention center following remarks by Obama that were detrimental to the Vegas economy.

Reid’s flip flop on Gitmo shows that a supporting vote can be bought by the President for a mere $2 million which is the amount raised by the Reid campaign on Tuesday evening. Nevadans will be watching the actions of the Senator closely through the remaining of the year and into the 2010 election to see if the man from Searchlight, Nevada remains relevant to the majority of Nevadans.

The race for Reid’s seat should be hotly contested. Given current polls, I suspect that we will see President Obama in Nevada campaigning for the willowy Reid as the Senate campaign heats up. At this point Reid is unopposed as a Republican has yet to declare for the seat. They will announce soon and may come in droves as the real possibility exists that Reid can be defeated, much as another former Democrat Senate Majority Leader, Tom Daschle was defeated in a bid for reelection.

Reid will complete his fourth term in the Senate in 2010 and after serving 24 years it is time Nevadans had a new voice in Washington. Reid will have served Nevadans for over 40 years having served in both state and national office. Barack Obama campaigned under the banner of change and Nevadans should take that to heart in next years Senate campaign.

It is time for a change in Nevada and time to send the gentleman from Searchlight home.

The selection of Sonia Sotomayor to replace Justice Souter on the bench of the Supreme Court of the United States by Barack Obama comes with little surprise. Sotomayor is an experienced jurist who was heavily favored to receive the appointment and become the first Hispanic appointed to the  nation’s highest court.

Sotomayor’s appointment was jubilantly received by union leaders, Democrat leadership in both the House and Senate and progressive leaders through out the nation. Obama’s selection may  prove to be the most liberal appointment to the bench in the history of the court. Judge Sotomayor has stated that Jurists make policy.  In the case of Sonia Sotomayor that policy will favor the progressive agenda.  She is expected to be confirmed by the Senate but, her appointment should stir concern within the GOP.

Sotamayor is the “empathy” nominee to the Supreme Court. Though justice may be blind as one reasons within the parameter of the law, empathy is not blind. Empathy allows one to interpret the law based on ones own experiences and interface with others. Sotomayor has gone on record as stating that ” a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”

In other words white males lack the diversity of experience or “richness” in life provided by the minority female experience. These comments are at worst racist and at best naive. They are certainly narrow and frightening, when the source of these remarks may soon be a Supreme Court Justice. Obviously, in the experience of Sotomayor, white males lack both a rich experience and empathy.

There is in Sotomayor’s remarks the arrogance of the progressive that dominates the Obama administration as well as the green movement, the labor movement and numerous ‘social” causes. She may be a Latina but let us not forget that she is also a product of an Ivy League establishment that comes with an inherent sense of entitlement and superiority as evidenced by our current President.

We should not be so naive to believe that simply because she is a Latina that her life experience is so very different from our own. We are at a place in our history where our society is celebrating the accomplishments of minorities. We are celebrating the emergence of people of varying racial heritage, both male and female from the yoke of oppression of institutions controlled by white males. Let us not forget that it was white males that opened the doors that were too long barred from too many. We should be jubilant as a nation  that we can at  last support the truths that the Founding Fathers believed to be self evident, that all men are created equal, in a Declaration signed by white men all.

However, as we transition as a society in a nation of laws we should judge not from our “rich” experience as a Latina, an African American, a white male or female, but rather from our understanding of the law as defined by the rich experience of a nation with established precedents as opposed to the whims of an individual.

Barack Obama who chastised American business for attending business conferences or conventions in Las Vegas is flying to Las Vegas today in Air Force one with his ever present entourage to attend a fund raiser for Senator Harry Reid the unpopular Democrat Senator from Nevada who is also the Senate Majority Leader.

Reid is up for reelection in 2010 and will be holding a fundraiser at Caesar’s Palace, a venue which is representative of the gaming, hospitality, and food service industries which are so vital to the Las Vegas economy. It is believed Obama’s comments have cost the local Las Vegas economy at least $100 million as over 400 conventions have canceled this year as executives have elected to by pass Las Vegas as concerns about perceptions of executives by the Obama administration have discouraged the business community from attending conferences in Las Vegas lest they be perceived as squandering shareholders assets.

Obama’s comments denigrating Las Vegas were made with little concern for the thousands of men and women employed by the Hospitality and Gaming industry or the thousands of members of the culinary workers union that supported his candidacy. The President spoke as someone with little knowledge of the business experience or the importance of conferences and conventions to business people to expand the knowledge base of their industry, increase awareness of their respective goods and services to the trade and provide networking opportunities.

Obama’s remarks were heard throughout the business community and were consistent with his progressive philosophy and failure to support the free enterprise system as he promotes the cause of special interest groups including organized labor and environmental groups. Perhaps the President’s visit to Las Vega, which by many may seem hypocritical will  encourage businesses toonce again consider Las Vegas as a conference or convention venue.

The attempts by the left in Congress and the progressives in the Obama administration to transform America as we have known it are limitless. Barack Obama continues to promote his progressive agenda and Congress approves spending at stratospheric levels to satisfy Obama’s commitments to the special interests that he is indebted to for supporting his campaign and subsequent election.

The union leaders and the stewards of environmental fascism that fund the progressive agenda, have their President in the White House and are optimizing his position and current favorability to transform America into a Eurotopian nation state in which traditional American goals and objectives are secondary to broader global concerns.

The progressives in Congress and the White House are committed to extending the reach of Government into every element of our lives including our diet. A hallmark of progressive fascism is the good intent of the leaders in caring for the masses while restricting personal freedoms for the benefit of the greater good. The charismatic progressive leader states his case in a methodical and logical manner to the public in platitude filled speeches among grandiose settings.

Hence, the government creates a tax on sweet products such as carbonated beverages like Coke and Pepsi to fund health care while funding research on obesity and gradually expanding the tax to other food and beverage items that are deemed as inefficient nutrient providers or contributors to health concerns such as candy and snack items. Legislation is currently being discussed by the Senate Finance committee on a so called fat tax that would also address products with a high salt content.

The ability for millions of Americans to enjoy the simplest of sweets or snacks will become increasingly costly as groups such as the Center for Science in the Public Interest continue to promote their agenda to restrict American diets to what they believe are the right food and beverages for Americans to consume.

Oppressive taxes, fewer personal liberties, government intervention as a result of policies that promote class warfare and direct the redistribution of wealth are all indicators of an America in transformation. As our nation evolves under the current progressive leadership of Barack Obama and we slim down to be able to squeeze into our government produced electric powered mini cars we may take solace that our diet is being monitored by the President’s Council for Dietary Requirements and Nutritional Optimization to assure that foods that we merely derive pleasure from are properly taxed with the appropriate amount of guilt to temper our palate.

Barack Obama, speaking from the National Archives this morning defended his position with respect to the closure of  the Guantanamo Bay internment facility in Cuba. Obama  has failed to submit a plan as to the disposition of the remaining detainees at Guantamo  and was rejected by the Senate yesterday as they overwhelmingly voted against allowing any of the current terrorist suspects at Guantanamo to be transferred to the United States.

As Obama spoke this morning, he defended his position regarding the closure of Guantanamo and referred numerous times to the Bush administration, implying that their actions were counter productive to assuring the nation’s security. In reiterating the standard liberal rhetoric that has emanated from the left, Obama stated that Guantanamo represents a rallying point for terrorist recruiters as long as it remains open.

The speech was bereft of any plan or solutions from the President as to the closure of Guantanamo as he continued to attack the Bush administration for their policies. The President accused the Bush administration of making hasty decisions following the attacks on 9/11 during what he called was a “season of fear” and stated that there would not be an issue with Guantanamo if the Bush administration had not opened Guantanamo in the first place.

This President believes that despite the lack of a terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11, the Bush administration policies were negligent. He believes that his legacy will be of the President that kept America safe by embracing greater dialogue with our enemies and by adhering to the  principles and values outlined by the American Constitution and Bill of Rights as interpreted by the progressive left.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney, at an address before the American Enterprise Institute spoke following the President’s address and emphasized the security the Bush administration provided for the nation following the 9/11 attacks. He expressed his concern over the dismantling of the Bush policies by the Obama team and clearly stated that the  Bush administration acted within the parameters of the constitution.

Barack Obama, so concerned about sanitizing the White House and government of any thing related to the Bush administration, is jeopardizing our national security while he vigorously attempts to satisfy his progressive handlers and establish a sustainable legacy as the President who returned America to the progressive version of the moral high ground no matter the cost.

Obama has a need or rather a compulsion to be perceived as a great President and as the first African American President is obsessed with his legacy so early in his Presidency. Today, he claimed his place among our founding fathers as he stated that he studied the constitution as a student, taught it as a teacher and was bound by it as a lawyer and a legislator. Barack Obama, the academician claimed the moral superiority as is so often the tactic of the progressive left as he assured the nation that he is the Commander in Chief.

Nancy Pelosi was clearly addled during a press conference today as the media demanded to know what she knew and when she knew it with respect to the use of water boarding and other enhanced interrogation techniques by agents of the Central Intelligence Agency on alleged Islamist terrorists. Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, today accused the CIA of lying to Congress as to their use of waterboarding.

The charge was quickly denied by a spokesperson for the Agency. Pelosi was briefed by the CIA on the use or potential use of enhanced interrogation techniques in 2002, but now denies that she was aware of their use of water boarding. The debate over the use of torture during the Bush administration heated up the past few weeks, with the release of select CIA memos by the Obama administration, amid calls for an investigation by Congress into the use of torture during interrogations. Pelosi who has been a proponent of a truth commission has come under fire for denying she was ever briefed on the topic.

The Speaker has now become the story and in Washington that is a death knell. Her anxious performance before the press today left the political establishment wondering  how she can retain any remaining credibility with the American public. At a time when Barack Obama and a compliant Democrat leadership in Congress are attempting to enact transformational progressive legislation to address Global Warming and Universal Health Care, Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House has become a major distraction and could derail the Obama administration agenda in Congress.

Rumors on Capital Hill are running rampant that Speaker Pelosi will have to resign to preserve the integrity of the Office of the Speaker and to limit collateral damage across the Democrat Party leadership. Polls are being conducted to determine how the electorate are perceiving the controversy surrounding the Speaker.  Pelosi’s claim that the CIA lied to Congress are particularly disturbing as they undermine the morale of the very people we as a nation are dependant upon to protect our national security.

Nancy Pelosi, the beacon of progressive fascism in Congress has stumbled and is falling. Her leadership has always been at question and is now at best tenuous. We agree with many in Congress that the Speaker should resign to preserve the dignity of her office.
